We need immediate support for these priorities.  Without your help, many of these activities are only great ideas!

#1 Sponsor events to mark historic anniversaries in 2025 - April 12 is the 80th anniversary of FDR’s passing in Warm Springs, GA; May 8 is the 80th anniversary of VE Day; July 26 is the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act ; August 14 is the 90th anniversary of FDR signing the Social Security Act; October 11 is the 141st birthday of Eleanor Roosevelt.

#2 Support the Ambassador Program - Ambassadors will serve in Ranger-like positions at the FDR Memorial to improve the visitor experience by leading tours, answering questions, etc...  We are purposefully recruiting people with disabilities for these positions and offer a stipend in thanks for serving. Help support this service program at the Memorial which is needed more than ever!  The more we raise, the more Ambassadors we can recruit.  

#3 The 25th Anniversary of the FDR Wheelchair Statue in 2026

The FDR wheelchair statue was added after an epic six-year campaign led by Americans with disabilities. In 2026, we will celebrate this anniversary, the statue, and the disabled Americans who fought tirelessly to remove disability from the shadows of history and to enshrine what leadership can look like.  We hope to mark this anniversary with educational events to share this story with new generations and a commemorative event at the Memorial. #4 Support Disability Accommodations and Accessibility

Help provide funding for disability accommodations and accessibility at all of our events such as ASL interpreters, expert captioning (no - auto captions do not always work in every setting) and other supports.
