WHAT WE DO, WITH YOUR HELP

The College Scholarship Program helps housing students pay for higher education at a 2-year, 4-year, technical or graduate school.

BREAKING A CYCLE OF POVERTY: Education remains one of the most consistent paths to life-changing opportunities. A Bachelors degree typically doubles lifetime earnings, bringing greater self-sufficiency, a larger voice in the community overall, and a permanent transition out of public housing.

ABOUT US:
Since its creation by the Norwalk Housing Authority in 1998, the Scholarship Program has donated over 700 awards and more than $3 million to Norwalk’s housing students. This year we made 50 awards totaling over $300,000 -- all our students are the first in their family to attend college.

PLUS! 100% of donations goes to the students. We've also been recognized by the Harvard University Ash Center (“Top 25 Innovations in American Government”) and “National Award of Excellence” from NAHRO (National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials).
