We are No Borders, a cooperative bookstore and cafe coming soon to Astoria, Queens. We're rooted in the values of mutual aid, lifelong education, and accessible literacy. We currently have a temporary residency, through May, at Side B (36-12 34th Ave.) where we are open Thurs/Fri 3pm to 9pm; Sat 10am to 9pm; and Sunday 10am to 7pm.
However, we're still fundraising for our permanent spot, which will ideally mean a full-service cafe, seating, bigger events, and more inventory! Our goals are:
a pay-what-you-want model for most used books
a small and curated selection of new books
a cafe with with affordable light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
a rentable event space for author talks, book launches, and meetings
a free store with personal care items available to anyone, no questions asked
a neighborhood spot where you can gather without an expectation to spend money
