3 years ago, the grassroots organization No Hot Creek Mine was born, brought to life by Emily Markstein and Amber Rassler in Mammoth Lakes, California. Concerned about the impacts of a gold mining operation right outside their small town, this group has hosted numerous protests, community conversations, and outreach events. It is time to tell the story of this organization, its fight against KORE Mining, and the larger story of mining in the Eastern Sierra as a whole.

Since the beginning, local photographer and filmmaker Ethan Fichtner has been witness to the growth of the movement. Fichtner and his company 11 MPH Films will produce a short film in coordination with other collaborators in the film industry with input from various community stake holders. It is imperative that we come together as a community to stop KORE Mining before the mining project starts. However, this project needs your support today - your donation directly funds this film as part of our grassroots efforts to protect this land we love.
