In honor of our daughter, Noor's 12th birthday, we are raising $12,000 for FIRST!

FIRST is the only global nonprofit dedicated to finding cures and improving lives for those affected by ichthyosis and related skin types.

There are more than 25 types of this disease, and approximately 200-300 moderately to severely affected births a year in the US. With so few born, and so much variability, the community desperately needs education, connection, and inspiration. Many people struggle with affording or finding knowledgeable and effective medical care. Misdiagnosis is common, and there are currently no FDA-approved treatments. There are just a few dozen doctors with clinical expertise in these diseases.

Your gift will go a long way to making a difference! FIRST has a Physician Finder, virtual and in-person programs, and financial aid programs. FIRST strives to educate, inspire, and connect families to life-changing resources. Finally, FIRST is an active sponsor of academic research, and has been deeply involved in pushing forward new pharmaceutical research.
