Story
The Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires, in partnership with The Berkshire Eagle, will present the 6th Annual Berkshire Nonprofit Awards on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. The awards recognize people who work tirelessly in the nonprofit sector to serve the Berkshire community.
Nominations were solicited from across the Berkshires in seven categories: Executive Leadership, Board Leadership, Rock Star, Unsung Hero, Volunteer, Lifetime Achievement, and Samya Rose Stumo Youth Leadership.
A panel of 21 judges from the business and nonprofit sectors has chosen the honorees from among nearly 70 nominations. We are pleased to announce this year's group of 8 outstanding honorees:
*In a highly unusual “tie” situation, there are two Lifetime honorees this year – two forces of nature who have been at it for more than 30 years, making huge impact in our community, starting from nothing and expanding to the huge and stable organizations they both retired from in the past year! The Berkshires is lucky to have had these two tireless women leading the way in their respective sectors for over three decades.
The Breakfast Club consists of local businesses and individuals who want to show their support for everyone who works in the nonprofit world.
Your support will be noticed! Breakfast Club sponsors and donors will be recognized in The Berkshire Eagle Awards Supplement with a readership of 45,500! Additional recognition includes your name on our web site, in email blasts, and on the big screen at the awards event itself.
Your support is very critical! It enables us to host nearly 300 people for a celebratory awards presentation and provide a boatload of free and low cost programs to Berkshire nonprofits. And 50% of your donation will support our new Philanthropy in the Schools Curriculum, re-launching in fall 2023 after a long absence during the pandemic. This unique program teaches students about giving, turns each student into a mini philanthropist so they can experience it directly, and then allows them to reflect on their impact on our community. It’s empowering and you will help create the next generation of volunteers and donors!
But wait, there’s more! Breakfast Club Sponsorship at the $250 level entitles you to a FREE TICKET to the event at Berkshire Hills Country Club. Come cheer on your favorite nonprofits and mingle with their board members from the business community. Everyone looks great at 8 am and you’ll appreciate the undeniable LIFT you’ll experience from learning about all the good work going on in our community and all the great people doing it. (Note that businesses who sponsor at the $250 level also receive free NPC membership and all the benefits along with it).
