Clover's Journey

🍀Why I said yes💚
I don’t often share a lot of personal information, especially when it comes to my family. But I want to share a little with all of you about Clover and what happened yesterday.
When medical events happen here I always have to stay calm. The next day is always what’s a challenge for me emotionally. Clover’s situation has hit me extra hard and it’s because of why I said yes.
When I was first asked about Clover, I was initially thinking we didn’t have space. Then they said “We have a piglet that had a stroke. “ Right then and there I knew she was meant to come here.
My father had suffered a stroke a couple of years before her arrival. I was getting ready to go to bed one night when I heard a pig screaming in the distance. When I looked out at the land, I noticed my dad‘s back porch light was on, which was odd for that time of night.
He had walked up by the pigs to give them a late-night treat and suffered a stroke right outside their house. It was freezing cold and he wouldn’t have survived. I was worried there was a coyote so I went to go check why there was a pig screaming at that time of night and found him.
Over the next year, I watched his strength and tenacity to learn to walk again and do so many other things. It was an extremely emotional time for our entire family needless to say. His physical therapy team would think of creative ways using the pig names to help with memory loss. He always has loved the pigs, but now he had a newfound appreciation for them as they saved his life.
So when the call came about Clover, I just knew I had to say yes. Clover had suffered a stroke, leaving her unable to walk in a straight line. She had a severe head tilt and would just walk in circles and fall over. I found a great local therapist that was willing to take Clover on as a new patient and her very first pig.
I remember the day I told my dad about Clover coming here and her history. He said I couldn’t agree more and looked at me giving me a huge crooked smile. A smile my family had come to love because it reminded us of all he had went through to be here.
The day Clover arrived. I will never forget looking at her and the very first thing I noticed. She had a big beautiful crooked smile and an innocence about her that is hard to describe.
We immediately got to work with our Vet team and one amazing therapist and her journey began here🏡🐽💕🩺🏥 She was a little fighter just like my father. It was a slow process just like with my father. A long journey filled with huge rewards🥹
Although Clover had a setback yesterday with suffering a second stroke, she’s doing really well today. Our vet dropped everything for her and was over here within 20 minutes and I couldn’t be more thankful. Her new meds seem to be working beautifully🫶
My passion has always been for animals needing extra medical help and patience. Unfortunately, those animals also are usually very costly. Any help at all with Clover‘s medical care and our general medical fund would be so appreciated right now🙏 I will add our info in the comments 🐽
Send Clover a little love as she recovers and I will make sure to keep you all updated 💚Thank You to her sponsor Brad for taking care of her first month of new medications💕We can’t help them without all of you and I truly appreciate the support ☮️
