Grocery Buddies for families losing SNAP due to the shutdown
To connect donors with individuals and families in need of groceries, and to support food access and community assistance programs.”
This started as a post in the Hyde Park/Oakley moms FB group with someone wanting to be a Grocery Buddy for families losing SNAP due to the government shutdown.
A Grocery Buddy buys a round of groceries for a family in need. Recommend $50/person in the household, but that's a suggestion. Options are to shop and deliver, meet at store, gift cards.
Or donate to Grocery Buddies and remain anonymous.
We matched 36 people our first day and registered as a 501(c)(3)
Anyone with SNAP can apply. We also receive referrals from agencies that support elderly, disabled, and foster families.
To become a Buddy, email [email protected]. If you need a buddy, [email protected] ND
*Remaining donations will be added to a fund intended to continue helping SNAP recipients during emergencies and on holidays.
