Friends & Family, This October, I will be taking on the challenge of Everesting (aka 29029) in Stratton, Vermont to raise money for The Fore Hadley Foundation. On October 25, I will have 36 hours from to climb 29,029 vertical feet, which is the same elevation as Mount Everest.
During the challenge, I will be tasked with making 17 climbs up a ski mountain with each climb gaining 1,750 vertical feet over 1.35 miles. I will hike up, take the gondola down and then repeat until I’ve covered more than 22 miles and climbed the equivalent of Mount Everest.
The Fore Hadley Foundation provides hope, opportunity, and support to the Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) community, and serves to inspire others to join the fight to eliminate this birth defect.
Since it's founding in 2015 after Hadley's untimely passing, the Fore Hadley Foundation has supported over 800 families in 47 states, provided college scholarships to 40 CDH survivors, and funded numerous academic research grants at organizations like Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Johns Hopkins All Childrens Hospital, Colorado Children's Hospital, Boston Children's, and the University of Texas at Houston.
Join us as we embark on an incredible journey to raise support and awareness of CDH by completing the 29,029 Everest Challenge on Stratton Mountain, VT on October 24, 2024. Funds raised will go directly towards supporting CDH families in NICU's around the country as well as funding academic research projects to find the cause and/or cure of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia.
