“Opening Doors for Movement, Safety, and Independence”

“Just as we must prepare a special environment for sport,” Maria Montessori reminds us, “so too must the Montessori teacher prepare an environment that supports both freedom and safety—allowing children to explore with confidence while ensuring they are always protected.” 

This Giving Tuesday,—December 2nd—, Mansio Montessori’s community goal is $20,000 to replace eight (8) exterior steel doors that connect our classrooms to the outdoor play areas. Each door serves as a vital link between a child’s classroom and their world beyond it—from Beginning Toddler and Toddler environments to Preschool and Kindergarten. 

These doors have served us for over 20 years and now need replacement to meet today’s safety and energy standards. Six (6) of the eight doors will include security keypads, strengthening campus safety while maintaining the natural flow between indoor and outdoor exploration.

By replacing our aging doors, it aides us in ensuring:

• Security: Keypad access systems for controlled entry and peace of mind,
• Independence: Easy-to-open, child-accessible doors that allow freedom of movement,
• Energy Efficiency: Improved insulation for sustainability and comfort, and 
• Longevity: Modern materials designed to last for decades of learning and fun.
