We urgently need your support to care for 35 huskies we recently rescued from a heartbreaking situation (see the story below). Of these huskies, five are suffering from severe medical conditions, two of which were hospitalized, one is in medical foster. These dogs were unsafe conditions, leaving them injured and traumatized.
We’re working tirelessly with local rescues and boarding facilities to provide them with shelter, medical care, and love. However, the costs are overwhelming, and we can’t do this alone. That's where you come in! With your generosity, we can give these huskies the second chance they deserve.
What Happened:
On October 4th, a rescue transport involving approximately 11 dogs went terribly wrong. The dogs, mostly German Shepherds and Huskies, were being transported in the back of a box truck, which later crashed. Some dogs escaped and were injured. This prompted Nevada County Animal Control to take custody of the remaining 34 dogs now under our care, were left in dire condition, needing urgent medical attention and shelter.
We immediately stepped in, providing the care they need. Unfortunately, the cost of their care—medical treatment, boarding, food, and rehabilitation is significant. With several dogs needing intensive care and hospitalization, we need your help to make sure all 35 huskies receive the proper care they deserve.
