I grew up in a community that thrived on diversity. Being raised around so many different types of people made me see that the world is beautiful because of how unique every person living in it is. Learning about the racial and socioeconomic disparities in society struck me and influenced me to take an active role in diversity, equity, and inclusion. I believe that the way to create a truly inclusive world is for everyone to take action in their daily lives by creating safe environments and equal opportunities for everyone. I believe United Way is an organization that is working to make everyone feel true inclusion and have seen the work they continuously do to bring equal opportunities to everyone. I am very excited to work with the United Way of Tompkins County team because we are committed to bringing the community together to work to meet the needs of all.
