Juliet and Zahra's Dream

The small workshop buzzes with energy. Sewing machines hum, and laughter fills the air. Juliet and Zahra watch proudly as women with various disabilities carefully transform old rice sacks, discarded plastic bags, and worn-out burlap into beautiful, strong clothing and bags.

Before Juliet and Zahra's program, these women had few opportunities. Many were told they couldn't work, couldn't contribute, couldn't dream. Now, they're not just working - they're creating art, supporting their families, and changing how their community sees disability.

Piles of colorful sugar sacks, feed bags, and plastic materials that would have been thrown away are now carefully cleaned, cut, and sewn into stylish jackets, tough shopping bags, and unique accessories. Each piece tells a story of creativity and resilience - for women who were once told they had no value.

The Big Problem We're Facing

Around the world, amazing people with big dreams are held back:

92% of social entrepreneurs in developing economies lack access to critical mentorship and funding
Only 0.3% of global philanthropic funding reaches locally-led organizations in the Global South
An estimated $2.5 trillion funding gap exists for social enterprises addressing critical community needs

How We Are Helping

In 2025, SAF is launching a 12-week Accelerator Program to equip changemakers with the training, tools, and support they need to tackle challenges like poverty, job creation, and environmental protection. These leaders, like Juliet and Zahra, have the ideas—let's help make them a reality!
