Open Courts Initiative (OCI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit expanding access to tennis across Greater Kansas City. We believe tennis is a powerful tool for growth—building discipline, confidence, and connection both on and off the court.

Our Mission

OCI exists to build a unified, public-facing tennis ecosystem across the Kansas City metropolitan area. By activating public courts as hubs for learning and community, we create accessible entry points for players of all backgrounds and connect them to clear, affordable pathways for development.

We focus on two connected pathways:

Lifetime Pathway – accessible, consistent tennis for beginners and developing players
Performance Pathway – structured training for competitive players advancing their game

Together, these pathways create a clear progression from first exposure to long-term development in tennis.

What Your Support Does

The OCI Launch Fund directly supports tennis access in Greater Kansas City.

Your contribution helps fund:

court access for community programming
coaching and instruction for youth and beginner players
equipment and training resources
structured tennis experiences for new and developing players

Founding Partner Circle members provide the leadership support necessary to establish OCI's Lifetime and Performance Pathways, activate public courts, and expand access to structured tennis opportunities for youth, families, and developing players.

Founding Partner — $2,500

Supports approximately 5–8 player scholarships and helps fund coaching, court access, and equipment.

Founding Champion — $5,000

Supports expansion of programming and pathway development while helping establish sustainable access to structured tennis opportunities.

Founding Legacy Partner — $10,000+

Helps build the foundation of OCI's long-term impact throughout Greater Kansas City and supports strategic growth, community activation, and future expansion.

$50 – Equipment + Court Access Support

Helps cover basic costs that make participation possible.

$150 – One Week of Participation Support

Funds a full week of training access within the Lifetime Pathway.

$300-$500 – One Month of Full Player Sponsorship

Sponsors a player's consistent monthly participation in OCI programming.

$1,000+ – Sustained Multi-Month Sponsorship

Provides extended access for a player over multiple months.
