This week Faith in Action selected our half plate recipient to be Portland’s Birth Roots. Birth Roots provides community-based education and support focused on pregnancy and throughout the early years of parenting. Examples of classes in its Treetop community classroom are pregnancy support groups for Spanish-speakers, fatherhood preparation classes, mental health provider trainings, and in-kind office space for a nonprofit serving fathers who have experienced infant loss. Birth Roots community partners include Maine Boys to Men, Community Doulas of Portland, Presente Maine, and Sad Dads Club. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
