Our half plate today supports the nature-based programs of MANA, the Maine Association for New Americans, an immigrant-led non-profit based in Portland, responding to needs of the New Mainer community. MANA's two nature-based programs, #WEOUTSIDE and #GOALS, partner with environmental organizations around the state to take middle and high school-age immigrant youth on outdoor expeditions, expanding their understanding of themselves in this new place where they now live so they can experience the healing power of nature and interact with advocates from the BIPOC community devoted to inspiring tomorrow’s leaders.
