As the season shifts and Old Fort Niagara grows quieter, we’re reminded of how much this place depends on the strength of its community. The Fort has stood for centuries—through harsh winters, historic turning points, and changing times. Today, it stands because of you.

2025 has been a challenging year. Lower-than-expected tourism has impacted our operating budget, making it harder to sustain the daily work that keeps the Fort running. Yet even in the face of these challenges, we’re looking ahead with excitement and determination.

In 2026, the French Castle—the oldest building on the Great Lakes—will celebrate its 300th birthday. This iconic structure has witnessed three centuries of history, and we’re planning a celebration worthy of its legacy. On June 6, 2026, we’ll welcome visitors from near and far to commemorate this milestone with special events, programs, and experiences that bring history to life.
