Q99 Breaking and Entering

UWRV partners with Q99 for their annual Breaking and Entering!  Help UWRV, PCC and Q99 surprise one local family with an unforgettable Christmas.

June has been fighting an incredibly difficult battle for nearly seven years. Diagnosed with breast cancer in her late 30s, she underwent treatment only to face the devastating news that her cancer was terminal. She now requires bi-weekly treatments to manage her condition, all while knowing her prognosis remains unchanged.

Life recently threw her another curveball when she was in a car accident after colliding with a deer. While her car is technically drivable, the driver’s side door is damaged, making it nearly impossible for her to get in. Despite this inconvenience, she continues to make the grueling two-hour drive for her cancer treatments, patiently waiting until the repairs are scheduled in December.

But June doesn’t fight this battle alone—she is the loving caregiver of her vibrant 3-year-old granddaughter, Loni. Born prematurely at just 24 weeks, Loni spent her first six months fighting for her life in the NICU. Today, she’s a thriving, dinosaur-loving bundle of energy who brings light and joy into June’s life. Her resilience mirrors her grandmother’s—a testament to the strength that runs in their family.

June has faced unimaginable loss and heartbreak beyond her diagnosis. Just last year, she lost her eldest son in a tragic car accident. He left behind a grieving wife, two daughters, and an unborn child. Despite this, June continues to provide love and support to her family, even as she copes with her own battles. She is also the proud mother of two other adult children, including her youngest son, a Marine recently promoted to Corporal. June is happily married and thankful for the support and dedication of her husband, Chris.

Through all of this, June embodies courage, resilience, and an unbreakable spirit. She continues to be a source of strength and love for her family, especially for little Loni, who adores her grandmother as much as June treasures her. Their story is one of hope, perseverance, and the incredible bonds that hold a family together even in the face of life’s hardest challenges.

Help this family have the Christmas they deserve!
