Our Mission at First Rate is to have a positive impact on the community and the people we serve. We do this every day by helping people buy a home, accomplish their goals, and by teaching financial literacy. We wanted to push ourselves to do more, so we created the First Rate Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to sowing seeds of goodness across Alaska. We take a portion of the proceeds on every loan we close and invest it into the community through the Foundation. When an opportunity comes our way, our entire team gets involved. Starting on their first day, all team members can recommend and vote on causes and families for the Foundation to support. We prioritize supporting the causes closest to our team, and we are constantly looking for ways to do good. Our work through the Foundation has led to some of our greatest accomplishments and has had a major impact on the community and our team members. Since 2018, the Foundation has invested over $600,000 into local communities, providing direct financial support to individuals in need during their darkest hours.
