The arts have the power to expand a person’s ability to express themselves. An education rich in the arts is known to improve communication, self-confidence, self-awareness, cognitive and motor skills. The Foundation has access to the finest instructors in music, dance, drama, visual arts, and writing. We will form partnerships and collaborate with community groups, agencies, schools, and faith-based organizations to provide culturally enriching opportunities.



Onaje Allan Gumbs and Sandra Gumbs believed in the oral tradition of passing information from mentor to mentee. To foster that belief, the Foundation will provide mentoring opportunities to highly skilled artisans through in-person and virtual communication.

Onaje Allan Gumbs and Sandra Gumbs also believed that every person deserves the opportunity to discover themselves through the arts. We will award both talent and need-based scholarships to further the arts and support the community.
