It All Started With A Mission Trip

While serving in safe houses in the Philippines, I saw the heartbreaking reality of human trafficking up close. Burdened by the stories I heard and moved by the strength and resilience of the survivors I met, I came home carrying a weight I couldn’t ignore — and a quiet conviction that I had to do something.

I prayed a simple prayer: “Here I am Lord...send me.” And from those words, a calling began to take shape.

As a survivor of sexual abuse and multiple sexual assaults, this mission hits close to home. I know what it’s like to carry pain in silence — and the difference it makes to be seen, heard, and reminded that you're not alone.

My journey has been about reclaiming my voice, walking toward freedom, experiencing the grace of a God who brings beauty from ashes, and learning that healing is possible — even when it doesn’t feel that way at first.

In the U.S., approximately 24,000 people were trafficked last year — many of them were youth
Reports of trafficking increased by 55% last year (NCMEC)
Trafficking risks often rise around major events like the Super Bowl
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup coming to the NY and NJ area, awareness and action are not just important — they're essential!

A Walk Rooted In Hope

Inspired by the Aramaic phrase “Talitha Koum” (little girl, rise up), this walk is an invitation to rise, to remember, and to take meaningful steps — together. An expression of the truth that every person matters, every story holds value, and that with God, new beginnings are always possible.

One Light, One Walk is an opportunity to raise awareness about human trafficking and be part of something bigger, shine light in the darkness, and make a real and lasting impact.
