Working with On the Road Collaborative over the past (nearly) four years has been an absolute blessing. Through one of On the Road's programs, Emerging Chefs, I have gotten the opportunity to teach cooking classes to local middle school and high school youth after school.

Each day I work with our youth, I see them develop more confidence, autonomy, and leaderships skills. Tackling recipes in the kitchen not only helps them learn to cook, but strengthens their self efficacy skills to help them feel more confident pursuing their goals for the future. There is no better reward in a job than getting to see a student's face light up after getting to taste one of their creations. 

Outside of these cooking classes, On the Road provides students access to homework help, tutoring, and exposure to different career paths and opportunities. Not to mention, all of these programs are completely free to the students and their families!
