Founded in 2011 by filmmaker Ava DuVernay, ARRAY was born from a simple truth: stories shape the world.

What began as a bold act of independent distribution has grown into a living ecosystem with ARRAY Releasing, ARRAY Filmworks, ARRAY Creative Campus and our nonprofit ARRAY Alliance. Each arm works in harmony to shift who is seen, who is heard, who is hired and who and what is remembered.

We champion Black artists, filmmakers of color and women directors of all kinds. Through production, programming, exhibition, grantmaking and education, we challenge systems and expand what is possible in the cultural imagination.

Equity is our compass, but path is never a solo journey.
