OperaLex is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting opera in the Bluegrass, primarily through support of the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre Program.

OperaLex provides a significant annual contribution to the program which is used to help defray the costs of production – scenery, costumes, and lighting – and to engage professional directors with experience in opera and musical theater to work with its students. The support of OperaLex also applies to the education of these talented opera students through scholarships, travel grants, personal interactions, and many other benefits. The success of the program and the well-being and growth of each of its students is the goal of OperaLex, its Board of Directors and its many members. We have been serving our mission proudly for nearly 30 years!
