Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge Fundraiser
David Resmo's fundraiser for the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge supporting the Field Of Dreams Charity
I have been accepted and am participating in the 2024 Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge starting August 4th and am fundraising for the Field Of Dreams charity which are a group of outdoor enthusiasts who are dedicated to providing the means and opportunity to participate in activities like hunting and fishing, to special needs kids, individuals who have served in the US military, and/or their children.
The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge (HHMC) is a endurance ride across North America.
This years challenge is the 10th and will start in Teddy Morse's Destination Harley Davidson in Daytona Florida and and travel to Key West and then on to Homer Alaska, primarily on 2 lane roads. We do not know the route and will be given paper directions at each checkpoint, along the way.
The challenge is named after a Sioux Indian, Chief Crazy Horse's, rallying call and aims to raise awareness and fundraise for charities while passing through some of the continent's most scenic areas.
The challenge typically takes 10–21 days to complete. We must sleep outside near their motorcycles, follow turn-by-turn directions, and are not permitted to use electronic navigation or stay in hotels. Other restrictions include:
- The motorcycle must be American-made
- The gas tank cannot be larger than 6.2 gallons
- Riders must choose a charity to raise money for: Field Of Dreams
- Speeding ticket, alcohol use or going over 100mph will disqualify the participant.
- We all will have, real time, GPS trackers on our bikes so you and the organizers can follow.
The 2024 HHMC will begin on August 4, 2024 in Daytona Beach, Florida, and end in Homer, Alaska.
Thanks so much for your support.
