“Before the fellowship, I wasn’t even sure what a literary agent was. By the end of the fellowship, I knew I wanted to be one.”
Sarah Sturm, Former Literary Agents of Change Fellow, now employed at Odom Media Management.
Our summer fellowship program thoughtfully matches college students from diverse backgrounds and historically underrepresented groups with a literary agency and Association of American Literary Agents (AALA) member, and Literary Agents of Change provides a grant directly to the student for their participation.
Over ten weeks, from June through August, fellows learn the inner workings of the industry and receive direct support from a supervisor to understand the role a literary agent plays in the publishing process and develop the skills that will help them succeed. Literary Agents of Change hosts a slate of programming over the course of the summer to further fellows’ access to networking, mentorship, and educational panels that will cover the publishing industry as a whole.
