The Orange Volunteer Fire Department (OVFD) has been at the forefront of community safety since 1925. We proudly serve the residents and businesses of Orange, CT, with unwavering dedication and commitment.

Our Mission

At OVFD, our mission is clear: to protect lives, property, and the environment through fire suppression, emergency medical services, and community education. We strive for excellence in every aspect of our work, ensuring that Orange remains a safe and secure place for everyone.

Volunteer-Powered Excellence

What sets OVFD apart is our 100% volunteer-based operation. Our firefighters are not just responders; they are your neighbors, friends, and fellow community members who dedicate their time and skills to keeping Orange safe. Their passion and professionalism shine through in every call and every rescue.

Community Partnerships

We believe in the power of community partnerships. OVFD works closely with local businesses, schools, and organizations to enhance fire prevention, safety education, and emergency response initiatives. Together, we build a stronger, more resilient Orange.

Training and Preparedness

Preparedness is key to effective emergency response. OVFD invests heavily in ongoing training and professional development for our firefighters. From advanced firefighting techniques to medical emergency protocols, we ensure that our team is always ready to handle any situation.

Community Outreach

Beyond emergency response, OVFD is committed to proactive community outreach. We conduct fire safety workshops, school programs, and public events to educate residents of all ages about fire prevention, CPR, first aid, and disaster preparedness.
