Securing the Future

We are launching this campaign to secure the future of our facility after a long dispute with seller.

The goal amount we need to achieve is $220,000. We do not rent, and would own the property out right if we are successful.

Our team is happy to answer questions 1:1 with significant donors, but gently don’t want to face what feels like perpetual relitigation.

It is wholly possible that with a solid lawyer, and equally solid expense there could be a more favorable legal remedy, but the cost will near or exceed paying the balance of the contract.
Indiana also has a shortage of attorneys, worsened by seller being a realty company who frequently switches representation and whose pockets are deep. There does not exist pro bono legal help for contract disputes over property.

I am at the point where our security matters more than right and wrong. We have paid more than half of the entire purchase price, despite being barred from payment while in conflict. Our team has also made $60,000 in repairs over the years, and other investments.

Currently we house just over 80 animals, and serve pets/people in crisis throughout each month, with the VA being our largest referral source this winter.
