What a moment we are in right now! The pervasive mood of doom and gloom we've been feeling for the past several years is finally lifting. There are glimmers of hope for our country and a very real sense of possibility is in the air. In fact, it's so palpable, I feel butterflies in my stomach and a song in my heart!

Could it be that we might actually be able to create a culture of compassion, care, and connection? Can you imagine a world where everyone can be seen, heard, and respected exactly as they are - regardless of party, religion, gender or gender expression, sexual orientation, color, or class? This has been my dream for decades and it feels like we could genuinely make this dream a reality in this country starting with this election if we can get people excited to get out and vote!

Democracy thrives when every voice is heard and every vote is counted. With big pharma, major corporations, and the private interests of billionaires all striving to take control of our government, we know this election is going to be contentious. That's why we're hitting the road to get out the vote.

Using the power of creativity, connection, and celebration around our shared values, we hope to inspire everyone to get involved in protecting our country's democracy.

Welcome to the 2024 Art + Ice Cream Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Tour! This fall we’ll be traveling across the USA in a camper van filled with art supplies, creativity, and a passion for democracy.

Our mission is to engage communities across the country with fun, interactive creative events that combine art, music, and the joy of ice cream with the critical work of voter education and empowerment.

We believe that when people connect, learn, and create together, they are more likely to commit to taking action—and that’s exactly what our democracy needs right now. Studies show that voter turnout increases when people feel personally connected to the process.

Our Art + Ice Cream Tour is designed to do just that—bring people together, foster meaningful conversations, and help them make a plan to vote. This isn’t only about registering voters; it’s about making sure they’re ready and excited to get to the polls.

We’re focusing on key swing states and other areas where close contests are expected, knowing that every vote counts in these crucial elections. Our goal is to not only register voters but to ensure they have the tools, information, and motivation they need to follow through and cast their ballots.

We’ll prioritize these swing states:

Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin

We’ll also target other states likely to have close contests:

Florida, Ohio, Texas, Minnesota, New Hampshire

What It Will Take:

We’re aiming to raise $60,000 to fund our two-month GOTV tour.

Budget Breakdown

Here’s how your support will be used:

Camper Van Rental (2 months): $20,000
Custom Magnets and Banners: $2,000
Gas (approx. 10,000 miles): $7,000
Insurance: $1,500
Food (2 meals/day for 2-3 team members): $8,000
Coordinator: $3,000
Campground Fees (2 months): $3,500
Marketing & Publicity: $3,000
Event Kits & Supplies: $3,000
Artist Stipends: $7,000
Travel Costs for Guest Artists: $3,000

Total Estimated Cost: $61,000

Scaling the Tour:

Reaching our $60,000 fundraising goal will allow us to execute our full tour plan. If we raise less, we’ll scale back the number of events and locations. If we exceed our goal, extra funds will go toward purchasing a custom-wrapped camper van for future GOTV Art + Ice Cream Tours, including the midterm and primary elections.
