Historically, Northmen Den has gone through tens of thousands of plastic bags each school year. In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, we will transition to reusable bags for the ‘25 – ‘26 school year.

As you can imagine, these bags are significantly more expensive than the plastic ones we've used in the past. We're reaching out to local businesses to help us cover the cost of this important change.

We are offering space on the bags for sponsor recognition—there are only 10 spots available, and they will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you're willing and able to support this project and help NDYS go green, please complete and return the enclosed remittance form as soon as possible.

We will be purchasing 5,000 reusable bags for the 2026 school year. While this shift helps us take a meaningful step toward being more environmentally responsible, we know that students are bound to occasionally forget their reusable bags. Having extras on hand will allow us to provide additional reusable bags rather than defaulting back to plastic.

This also means families will receive multiple reusable bags—ones they’ll likely use beyond school. Whether it’s a trip to the grocery store or a day at the ball field, these bags , and your company’s logo, will be seen throughout Emmet and Charlevoix Counties, expanding your reach while supporting a great cause.
