The Ovation Fund 2026

Theater Alaska exists to tell stories that spark civic conversation. Our productions invite Juneau to gather, reflect, and engage with the ideas shaping our lives—together. This work only happens because of the artists who bring it to life.

From actors and directors to designers, musicians, and stage managers, every artist on our stage is paid. For a full production like Much Ado About Nothing, we’ve been able to offer actors an average of $800. But that compensation doesn’t match the depth of time, skill, and collaboration required to create work that serves our community in this way—especially as funding sources have declined.

The Ovation Fund exists to sustain and strengthen this work.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 by August 31. Reaching that goal will allow us to increase the average pay for each artist—supporting the people who make it possible for Theater Alaska to continue creating space for dialogue, connection, and shared experience.

The Ovation Fund is an investment in the stories that bring Juneau together. The artists you see in our productions are your neighbors. They are the ones shaping conversations we have as a community—often while balancing one or two additional jobs to make that work possible.

Recent policy changes have reduced many of the funding sources we once relied on. Community support is now essential to sustaining this work.
