The moment a young dancer steps on stage in their costume...feels the lights on their face and the energy in the audience...they come alive. They find something inside themselves they did not know was there - something strong, powerful, confident and bright. They change into someone new - for the 4 minutes they are on stage, yes, but truly for the rest of their lives.

Every child with dance in their hearts should have this experience - should have the opportunity to find that bright, powerful new person inside and let them shine on stage for the first time.

Having the chance to dance in a production as a child is very expensive, and many families cannot afford to participate. Even after paying tuition for a year of dance classes, dancing in the yearly performance usually comes with costs such as recital participation fees and costume fees of $100 or more each.

That is why we are so grateful to our community of supporters for helping us think outside the box and make sure each and every student has the opportunity to step on stage and shine. With your donations we are able to costume every student, schedule needed rehearsals, and give our students the experience of performing on a professional stage.

This year will mark our TENTH annual Spring Performance, and the theme could not be more fitting!

Overcoming. From our very first little show on the stage at St. Elizabeth’s elementary school to where we are today, performing at Aaron Davis Hall with over 300 students, there have been SO many things to overcome. And how have we overcome them? Together! You have been a part of helping Dance Project make it through every single struggle, and we are so excited to celebrate this milestone with you.
