Support the Champions of Tomorrow

Since 1991 the NSAF has distributed more than $5M in grants that have allowed over 250,000 high potential student athletes to participate in our national indoor and outdoor competitions and development programs. 800 of these athletes have gone on to be Olympians earning 225 medals.

The impact of NSAF’s investment was most evident at this past summer’s World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Team USA won 16 Gold Medals, the most in World Athletics Championship history, over the nine days of action in Japan's National stadium.
NSAF Alumni made up approximately 2/3 of the members of Team USA, and 72% of the medalists. Including relays, those alumni earned 25 Golds, 9 Silvers and 4 Bronze medals. Melissa Jefferson-Wooden led the way with 3 Golds!

Each year, the NSAF has invested more into student athlete development. In 2025, the NSAF invested $380,000 to support high-potential student-athletes that could one day become Olympians and medalists like so many other NSAF alumni have done before. This support came in the form of travel grants to our national indoor and outdoor high school championships and developmental programs like the Nike Elite Program, the Nike Nationals Program and the NSAF Development Program that provides mentorship and performance development tools for the top high school track and field athletes in the USA.
