This October, include your four legged friend in the spirit of Halloween, by competing together in our Tricks for Treats Training Challenge! Registration opens on Thursday, October 10, and you have until Thursday, October 31 to complete the challenge! Proceeds benefit our programs to provide affordable dog training classes, rescue dog training, and humane education to the public. To take the training challenge, follow the steps below:

Click the Register button at the top of this page
Make a donation of $15 or more
Choose one or more tricks from the list below
Perform your chosen tricks with your dog or cat on video
Submit to us for judging
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
- Best in Show - best all around
- Funniest Fail - the name says it all!
Ways to submit your video
- Post to our Facebook page with the hashtag #tricksfortreats
- Share to your Instagram story (make sure you tag us!)
- E-mail us a link to your downloadable video in the cloud, and give us your permission to share it on our social accounts
All tricks must be taught using positive reinforcement methods only! (using treats and praise only)
TIP: we will use several criteria to judge videos, with happiness/engagement of the animal weighted higher than accuracy!

Choose one or more of the following tricks:

Nose Boop (also known as a nose target or hand target)
Shake
Spin
Paws Up (foot target)
Jump (over a bar, your leg, or other low object)
Go to Bed (or mat)
Doggie Yogi (unroll a towel with nose)
Take a Bow
