My name is Matan and I will become a Bar Mitzvah on June 1, 2024. I chose to support Cavalier Rescue USA because I love animals and have always been surrounded with the love of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

In addition to this Givebutter campaign, I have worked with my cousin, Delina Kelley, to create homemade lip balms and lip scrubs with all natural ingredients. All sales from the lip balm and scrubs will also be donated to Cavalier Rescue USA. I am selling the lip balm and scrubs as a package for $10. If you are interested in purchasing these amazing products, please let me or my mom know.

My Why

My parents tell me that the first time I entered my house, I was greeted with curiosity by Sophie, a Black and Tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Little did Sophie know, I was there to stay. I am told that she was very jealous of all of attention I got from visitors, since she was used to getting all of the attention herself. As I got bigger, Sophie quickly became my best friend, but she, like all Cavs got Mitral Valve Disease (MVD) and when I was about 20 months old, Sophie who was then 10, died of MVD.

I was a baby and didn't really understand, but my parents didn't want me to grow up without a dog, so they got Jade, a Black and Tan Cav puppy. Jade truly became my best friend. I would run after her, play with her, cuddle with her, and she put up with a LOT. It's hard for me to remember life without Jade. She sadly passed on 10/6/2023 at the age of 12, also to MVD. As Jade got older, my parents decided to bring Archie (Black and Tan Cav) home because they knew I would be devastated when Jade passed. When she did pass, we brought home Ginger (Ruby Cav) to join our family.

While we miss them daily, Sophie and Jade had amazing lives with us and Archie and Ginger continue to live their best lives. Unfortunately, this is not true for all dogs. This is why animal rescues are so important.

Animal rescues do amazing work. Before Jade died, she was on multiple medicines to treat her heart condition, with one of them costing over $100/month. With the rising costs of medicine, and well, everything, rescues truly need our support at this time.

I chose Cavalier Rescue USA to support for my Mitzvah Project in loving memory of Sophie and Jade. I would truly appreciate any donation to this cause.
