Meet Jeremy

Jeremy is 38 years old and has been incarcerated since his daughter was just a few months old. Now 16, she’s a bright and beautiful young woman who plays volleyball and is learning her way through life. “I always try to encourage her and prepare her,” Jeremy says. “I just give it to her straightforward — the do’s and don’ts of life — because that’s the best way to be.”

It’s been about a year and a half since Jeremy last saw her in person — the longest stretch they’ve ever gone without being together. That’s why the Father-Daughter Dance means so much. “I would love to be the one to show her how to dance,” he says. “To hold her, to teach her to two-step, so one day she can say, ‘My daddy taught me how to dance.’ It’s the small things in life you carry forever.”
