Today is day 100 that Saint has been in our rescue’s care. It took 1 day of her lying lifeless on the side of the road and 1 rescuer’s plea. 10 days in hospital, fighting. 9 surgical procedures. Over 22 bandage changes. And during these 100 days, she’s stolen too many hearts to count.

On day 99, yesterday, something really special happened. Saint was finally medically cleared for adoption and the 1 family who took a chance on her by welcoming her home as a foster decided that they couldn’t let her go.

Today marks Day 1 of Saint being a TAP Alum and an official part of her new family forever. 💚

Saint’s grand total bill at our partner vet, Ethos. After all is said and done, it was a whopping $21,670.14. When we first posted Saint and asked for this community’s help in saving her, we raised $16,398.75. We are humbly coming to you now, asking if you can help us make up the difference of $5,271.39 in honor of her adoption and brand new life.

In celebration of Saint, we are asking for your help to allow us to continue to rescue dogs like her. The ones left on the road for dead, who still have so much more life to live. Every little bit helps, and we are forever indebted to this community for letting us be a part of these amazing and resilient dogs’ stories.

What We Do

The Animal Pad (TAP) is a non-profit, all breed dog and cat rescue, which focuses on saving animals from high kill shelters and the streets of Mexico.

We get them vet care, place them in foster homes, and then find them loving forever families. TAP focuses much of our attention on the street dogs in Mexico, as there is very little help for them. We have a large rescue network in Baja California and a sister shelter in Ensenada that we pull dogs from whenever funds allow.

Our Mission

…is to form a safe space for dogs and cats experiencing crisis and neglect and to build a community of compassion through education, rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Our community of volunteers and fosters strives to ensure that all animals get a fighting chance and believes that no case is too extreme to be helped. This means our rescue is full of perfectly imperfect animals who can't wait to meet you.

Our Vision

…is to build, operate, and maintain a no-kill animal sanctuary. We would love to expand this model into other cities and help others wanting to create similar sanctuaries.

Our TAP Family

The Animal Pad is only able to do what we do through a network of volunteers, fosters, donors, sponsor organizations, and adopters. It truly takes a village, and we are always looking for more help! TAP is seeking new avenues for fundraising, veterinary care, pet supplies, and anything that can assist us in helping these innocent souls.
