The South Bay Toy Library is a free service to families in the community that allows its members to check out toys and activities just like they would check out books from a library! Members are able to check out 5 items for 2 weeks at a time, then return or swap them out for another 5 items. There are currently over 500+ items to chose from all which can help work on several developmental skills such as fine motor, gross motor, cognitive skills, speech and language, sensory processing, and more. The Toy Library also cuts down on toy waste, impacting the environment, as well as a financial impact for the families, cutting down on toy cost.

While the Toy Library was initially set up to work via social distance porch pick up directly from the owners home, this structure had to change due to various circumstances. Currently the owner drives from home to home and personally delivers toys directly to the members! Since this change, running the Toy Library has become costly- paying for a storage unit, gas for deliveries, as well as necessary supplies to run the Toy Library (batteries, disinfecting wipes and cleaners, storage bins, storage bags for toys, reusable bags for transport, label tape, post-its and stickers, replacement parts, etc.). Our goal is to raise enough to obtain a storefront location, but any donation amount to keep the Toy Library up and running is greatly appreciated. A small continuous donation from one person allows a family to check out toys that they otherwise could not afford. Your impact reaches several families in need. Thank you so much for thinking about the South Bay Toy Library!
