❤️ What’s the Cause?

For nearly 50 years, 930 WFMD’s Christmas Cash for Kids has brought joy to children in need right here in Frederick County.

It began in 1975 when a local DJ answered a listener’s call for help — and it’s grown into the area’s largest holiday fundraiser for kids. Partnering with the Salvation Army and local businesses, every single dollar raised goes directly toward toys, clothing, and essentials — purchased locally and given to local families.

In 2024, the community helped raise $134,000, supporting 1,300 children from over 600 families. That’s the Frederick spirit in action! 💖🎁

• Christmas Laughs for Kids is a FREE night of comedy featuring some of Frederick’s funniest comics, guaranteed to keep you laughing all night long!
• We just ask that you to donate at the door to support Christmas Cash for Kids.

Meet the Performers

🎤 MC – Wayne Dorsey
Wayne Dorsey has been performing stand-up for over a decade, bringing his sharp wit and larger-than-life stage presence to audiences across the DMV. Offstage, Wayne is the founder of the Safe Ride Foundation, the nonprofit behind SOS Safe Ride, and the creator of the Over the Limit Comedy Fest, one of the region’s premier comedy events. He’s shared the stage with comedy greats like Maria Bamford, Myq Kaplan, and Matt Braunger, earning a reputation as both a fearless performer and a tireless community leader who uses comedy to connect, entertain, and give back.

😂 Ryan Neser
Born in Baltimore and raised across Maryland, Ryan Neser’s comedy comes straight from his own life—broken home, misguided love life, and all. His misdirection style keeps crowds guessing and laughing, and he’s performed at venues like DC Improv, Baltimore Comedy Factory, and DC Draft House. Ryan has opened for some of the biggest names in comedy, including Tom Green, Aries Spears, Dana Gould, Charlie Murphy, Tom Arnold, Godfrey, JB Smoove, and more.

🌟 Nathan Scahill
One of the DMV comedy scene’s rising stars, Nathan Scahill has been performing for under five years but has already built a reputation for his effortless stage presence and razor-sharp timing. He’s the host and producer of Babylon Couch, a late-night style showcase in Frederick that blends stand-up, interviews, and variety acts into one of the area’s most unique comedy experiences. Nathan is also a familiar favorite at The Cellar Door’s Tuesday comedy nights, where local fans have watched him grow into one of the city’s brightest young talents.
