Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) is a dedicated 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to animal welfare across Hidalgo County, including four key municipalities. With two operational centers in Edinburg, TX, PVAS plays a vital role in our community, providing shelter and care to over 10,000 animals annually. Serving a growing population that now exceeds 888,000 residents in Hidalgo County, we continue to strive towards making a positive impact in the lives of animals and our community members alike. PVAS is on a journey to save lives and create a safe, humane community for all of the Rio Grande Valley.​​

PVAS accepts stray, sick, and injured animals from municipalities and counties who contract our services regardless of age, or breed, making us the largest intake facility in Hidalgo County.
