Our founder, J.Todd Watkins, spent the majority of his adult life serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.  While he is proud of his service, he lost close friends who never came home from combat.  It has been hard for him to accept why they died.  After years of anger and trying to justify their deaths, Todd decided the best thing he could do was spend the rest of his life honoring their memory by pursuing the peace and unity they were so dedicated to defending.  Hence, The Pan-American College Fund. 

Empathy is a stronger force than sympathy.  We create empathy from shared experiences.  This is why Albert Einstein said, "Empathy comes from living and working in another culture and mastering their language."  This is what we are about.  What better way to build empathy than by spending years studying and earning a degree in another culture.
