About the Grant

In partnership with the Retail Design Institute, we're establishing the Paul Pizzini, FRDI Memorial Grant + Experience to continue Paul's legacy of supporting and mentoring aspiring retail designers.

The grant includes:

A significant financial award to support the recipient's education and career development
Travel and accommodation to attend the 2024 PAVE Gala in New York City on December 12, 2024
A daily stipend for expenses during the gala

About Paul Pizzini, FRDI

Paul exemplified the heart and soul of our retail design community. His warmth, creativity, and infectious enthusiasm touched everyone he met.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Paul's journey in design began at the Cleveland Institute of Art. His talent and passion quickly propelled him to leadership roles, including EVP Creative Director at Miller Zell, Inc. and Chairman of the Atlanta/Southeast Chapter of the Retail Design Institute.

But Paul's true legacy lies in the lives he touched. He was known for his unwavering support of young designers, always ready with a word of encouragement or a piece of sage advice. His colleagues remember him as much for his brilliant design insights as for his kind heart and ready smile.

Paul's zest for life extended beyond the office. He was always eager for new adventures. Whether he was exploring far-off lands or taking his beloved grandkids to the playground, Paul approached life with the same curiosity and joy that he brought to his designs.

As a two-term President of the Atlanta/Southeast Chapter and a Fellow of the Retail Design Institute (FRDI), Paul's contributions to our field were immeasurable. But ask anyone who knew him, and they'll tell you it was his genuine love for people and his passion for nurturing talent that truly set him apart.

Paul's legacy is not just in the designs he created, but in the careers he fostered and the lives he touched. This grant is our way of ensuring that his spirit of mentorship and innovation continues to inspire future generations of designers.
