Hello, friends! I am Kelsey and I am the Director of Animal Services for Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit. In my 11 years with the Friends, I have held positions in animal care, animal placement, fundraising and development, medical and leadership. As the Director of Animal Services, I oversee our Animal Services teams which includes intake, surrender, pet retention, and outreach programs as well as our medical and foster teams. FAMD's lifesaving efforts begin with us - whether it is supporting families who have fallen on hard times in the form of free pet food with our Feed Fido food pantry, and/or free veterinary care with our vaccine, microchip, and licensing clinics. This may also look like helping intake animals upon arrival, collaborating with the medical team for their care as well as the foster team for placement. We currently support over 400 animals with out food pantry and have administered over 1000 vaccines to animals in need. Our Animal Services teams take in, provide medical care to, and advocate for foster placement for around 2500 animals per year. It takes donations like yours to allow our teams to be successful each year.
