Fundación Paz de Las Aves is an Ecuadorian non-profit working alongside Angel Paz and his family to protect 5 species of antpittas living on their 49 hectares of land in the Choco-Andino Wildlife Corridor.
Due to the current political instability facing Ecuador, tourism has significantly declined, severely impacting the local economy. While Mindo remains safe to visit, the downturn in tourism has placed a strain on Refugio Paz, which is striving to avoid laying off employees. To address this challenge, the foundation would like to launch a reforestation project that could hire local residents, and provide income during hard times.
Your donation will support the establishment and operation of this greenhouse, contributing to cloud forest habitat conservation, protection of flora and fauna, farmland reforestation, and environmental education for the local community.
Antpitta Habitat Alliance (AHA) is proud to partner with Fundación Paz de Las Aves to amplify their conservation efforts. Through this collaboration, AHA provides crucial support, ensuring these vital habitats are preserved for future generations. To help with administrative costs and bank transfer fees to Ecuador, AHA will retain 15% of each donation.
