A Historic Moment for Korea's Future

This July 25-27, 2025, Nodutdol for Korean Community Development, alongside 9 other Convening Organizations, will call the People's Summit for Korea: Towards National Liberation in New York City. This landmark gathering will bring together activists, organizers, scholars, and community members from across the United States and South Korea to chart a collective path forward to achieve Korea’s national liberation.

Why This Summit Matters

As tensions escalate on the Korean peninsula and U.S. militarism in the region intensifies, we are entering a pivotal moment for the movement for Korean liberation. Longstanding avenues toward peace and diplomacy have stalled, while the U.S. dangerously deepens military alliances and expands war exercises. In light of these evolving circumstances, we see a critical need for our movement to expand and act with renewed purpose. Recognizing that U.S. imperialism is a key barrier to peace and sovereignty for the Korean people, our movement must organize and unite across identities, movements, and borders to oppose U.S. aggression on the peninsula, cultivating and deploying a range of tactics.

The People’s Summit for Korea will feature keynotes, panels, and breakout sessions to educate and enable our movement to confront this political moment, sharpen our analysis, and chart the path forward. Your support will help us make this historic convening possible.

The People's Summit for Korea will be an opportunity to:

Galvanize the Movement: We will solidify opposition to US imperialism as a core strategy for achieving Korea’s national liberation.
Build bridges: We will deepen connections across US-based anti-war, anti-imperialist, national liberation movements.
Strengthen solidarity: We will forge stronger ties with progressive forces in South Korea.
Educate and engage: We will educate Koreans and non-Koreans alike on Korea’s history, its current conditions, and the stakes of our movement.
