Hello! My name is Ava Wagner, and I am a volunteer on the National Team. My work with Perfect Pair is incredibly meaningful to me, and I appreciate your support as we create authentic intergenerational connections. One special senior-student pair is Judtih and Corin who have a shared passion for exploring Chicago, traveling, and an enjoyment of museums and theatre. Together, they drink tea, walk around a lake, and brainstorm ideas of things to get involved with in Chicago. Corin also got to meet Judith’s dog! Other pairs connect through shared languages like Spanish and Arabic, create monthly book clubs, and have deep conversations about how they view the world. One matched resident shared, “At the age of 93 I have lost all friends from my youth and had given up hope for finding new ones. The Perfect Pair program gave me contact with a remarkable young man that has rejuvenated me. We are so similar in personality that I consider him the best friend I have ever had.
