Since 2006, the Wimberley Education Foundation has connected the generosity of our community with the creativity of Wimberley ISD educators, providing funding for innovative programs, projects, and learning experiences that go beyond the traditional school budget.

More than $500,000. 411 classroom projects. Countless opportunities for Wimberley students.

We are a community-funded, volunteer-led 501(c)(3) serving all of Wimberley ISD. Through Innovative Teaching Grants and other educational investments, we help our educators dream bigger and give our students more opportunities to learn, explore, and thrive.

About the Wimberley Education Foundation

Some of the most memorable learning experiences begin with a teacher asking, “What if we could…?”

What if students could learn through a hands-on experiment instead of just reading about it? What if a new technology could bring a lesson to life? What if an innovative program could reach students in a completely new way?

Not every great idea fits within a traditional school operating budget. That’s where the Wimberley Education Foundation comes in.

The Wimberley Education Foundation (WEF) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to generate private support for educational opportunities throughout Wimberley ISD. We bring together community members, families, businesses, and educators who share one goal: helping Wimberley students reach their full potential.

What We Do

At the heart of WEF’s work are our Innovative Teaching Grants.

Wimberley ISD educators can bring forward creative ideas for programs and projects designed to enhance student learning and academic achievement. WEF provides an avenue to fund deserving ideas that may not otherwise be funded (or fully funded) through the district’s normal operating budget. That allows our community to invest directly in creativity and innovation in education.

Since 2006, WEF has awarded more than $500,000 to support 411 classroom projects across Wimberley ISD.

And we’re not done.

Where WEF Fits

Wimberley is fortunate to have a community that shows up for its schools in many different ways. Our PTOs, booster clubs, and other parent and community organizations do important work supporting campuses, student groups, extracurricular activities, and programs.

WEF has a different, and complementary, role.

WEF serves Wimberley ISD as a whole. Rather than representing one campus, team, or activity, we raise private funds to expand educational opportunities across the district, with a particular emphasis on supporting innovative ideas from our educators.

Put simply, PTOs and boosters rally around the schools and programs they serve. WEF invests in educational ideas and opportunities that can happen throughout Wimberley ISD.

There’s room and a need for all of us.

Powered by Our Community

WEF is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business, community, and educational leaders who care deeply about Wimberley and its schools.

But WEF isn’t really powered by a board. It’s powered by Wimberley.

Every individual donation, business sponsorship, event ticket, and community partnership gives us greater capacity to support educators who are willing to think creatively about how students learn.

You don’t need to have a child in Wimberley ISD to have a stake in its success. Great schools strengthen our entire community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to generate and distribute resources to or on behalf of Wimberley ISD to enrich teaching, inspire learning and maximize opportunities for students while promoting excellence in education.

We pursue that mission by supporting innovative educators, encouraging student achievement, recognizing excellence and bringing our community together in support of Wimberley schools.
