Dear Perry School Community,

As we gear up for the most magical time of the year, let's come together to make a lasting impact on the lives of the incredible young minds at the Perry School in South Boston! This Giving Tuesday, we are working towards making a significant difference in three key areas that will shape the future of our school community:

Music Education
Your support ensures all students have access to enriching musical experiences. Through our partnership with the Boston Music Project, our youngest students explore singing, rhythms, and the cultural significance of music, while older students develop their talents through Brass instrumental instruction and music reading. Additionally, the Boston Children’s Chorus works with 2nd and 3rd graders to focus on singing, building confidence, fostering teamwork, and cultivating a love for music.

Social Emotional Wellness
Your contributions will enable us to continue offering social emotional wellness programs for all Perry students. This includes a month-long yoga unit led by Erin Holland, teaching mindfulness, self-regulation, and stress management, along with daily recess support from trained social work interns with Doc Wayne. These efforts ensure that recess is a safe and inclusive space where students can develop essential life skills like empathy, conflict resolution, and self-awareness.

Schoolyard Improvement
Our schoolyard is a cherished area for recess, gym, and after-school activities, but it needs critical repairs and upgrades. Last year’s contributions laid the foundation for revitalizing this space, and your support will help us take the next step by resurfacing the blacktop and replacing worn infrastructure. Together, we can create a safer and more engaging space for all Perry students to play, learn, and grow.

Here's the exciting part—your generosity will be doubled! Thanks to a generous matching pledge, every dollar you contribute will have twice the impact. Your $50 becomes $100, your $100 becomes $200, and so on.

🎉 The Polar Plunge Challenge: Dive into the Spirit of Giving!

If we raise $25,000, our fearless leader, Principal Rollins, State Representative David Biele, and executive director of Boston Music Project Chris Schroeder will brave the chilly waterfront ocean for a polar plunge on December 20th at the end of the school day. If we surpass our goal and raise $30,000, additional surprise jumpers from the Perry School and community may join in the plunge! Plus, if we hit 100 participants in the fundraiser, students will earn a pajama day on the day before winter break, making the celebration even more special.

Donate: Now – Friday, December 20th, contribute any amount you can. All gifts are tax-deductible. Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to our goal. If you donate $500 or more you will be recognized as a Perry School sponsor for the 2024/2025 school year. Does your company have a matching gifts program?
