Iran & Afghanistan Health Sovereignty

Farsi-Speaking people across the globe continue to face significant challenges including political repression, economic instability, and social injustice. This community often seeks refuge from the stress and trauma that is tied to these issues, yet they also grapple with their own struggles such as maintaining cultural identity and organizing socially, culturally, economically, and politically. In collaboration with numerous organizations and countless individual donors, EARTH is working to support and grow health sovereignty for the Diaspora around the world. EARTH works to support various models of integrative health and well-being that are delivered in a culturally congruent way. One of our most utilized approaches is the mind-body skills training model that is taught to professionals by The Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM). EARTH community members, led by Dr. Noshene Ranjbar and Shahine Tavakoli, and with the financial support of #CookForIran, have worked with CMBM to co-create the current efforts. Hundreds of small groups, workshops, and individual healing sessions have been facilitated by Farsi-speaking persons since March 2021. EARTH's role is to support persons already trained in mind-body medicine through CMBM, in their post-training service delivery, providing the infrastructure for facilitator income, marketing/outreach, and sustainability. EARTH provides this critical support to leverage community member's capacity to share a wide range of stress and trauma healing approaches with Farsi-speaking persons, as well as to culturalize content/delivery, build economic vitality, and more. Separate from the post-CMBM training services to this community (which EARTH is offering for other populations as well, see our Initiatives page and open the sub menu to see the others), EARTH is working to identify funding for more Farsi-speaking persons to receive CMBM's core training. The need is great, and we have hundreds of persons of Farsi-speaking Iranian and Afghani descent on a waitlist to receive their initial, advanced, and certification training programs. $100 supports our Farsi-speaking public education/social media effort and other critical infrastructure.
$250 supports a 2-hour community support workshop for up to 100 persons.
$500+ supports additional Iranian/Afghan contractors engaged in programming.
$3000 supports an 8-week (2-hours per week) healing group for up to 10 persons.
$4000 supports scholarship to a new trainee to undergo CMBM's initial and advanced training program.*
$5000 supports an existing trainee to go on to complete formal Certification in mind-body medicine through CMBM.*
