The HMS Parent Association is hosting a benefit concert for Westside Waldorf School and Pasadena Waldorf School, which both experienced significant damage in the LA fires. This concert is an opportunity for our community to come together and support our sister schools and families on the West Coast.

Join us for an evening of music, dancing, and merry-making featuring FOUR amazing musicians from the HMS community:

About the Musicians

Cale Brandley is a teacher, composer, instrumentalist, and singer. For this concert he will present a short cycle of "Four Apocalyptic Songs," composed during the early years of the 2020s, reflecting themes of renewal and transformation on a personal and universal level. With Karen Kho accompanying on piano

The Writeful Heirs are duo Sunny Barretto and John Montalto. John plays bass and guitar. He has played and written songs with the bands Club Iguana, Too Human, and the Significant Others (principal songwriter). His music has been heard on radio stations across the US and included in a documentary film. Sunny came from a family of artists, and while she has sung in choirs on and off for most of her life and been drumming for several years, songwriting came to inspire her later in life, "which turned out to be perfect timing because now I have so many incredible experiences to write about."

J. Bird and the Sparrowhawks is a local acoustic roots quartet performing tunes from the hills of Kentucky to the streets of Nashville, drawing heavily from the sounds of Appalachia. J. Bird and the Sparrowhawks are Rich Hamilton, Jerry Wile, Amy Snedaker and Edyta Weighart.

Waking Finnegan's fresh take on Celtic rock combines the edge and drive of electric guitar with the soul and depth of the upright bass, topped with haunting accordion, fiery fiddle, and powerful vocals. All tied together with rockin’ drums designed to get you out of your seat. Waking Finnegan, is Eve Pierce on vocals, Will Brewer on guitar, Patrick LaCroix on bass, Matt LaCroix on Irish whistle, accordion, mandolin, and electric bagpipes, Billy Brown on drums, and Corey Walden on electric violin.
