The Reaching for Rainbows: "Pursuit of Excellence" Gala is the Mahone Foundation’s annual signature event honoring the academic achievements of high school students from Kenosha and Racine. Each year, the foundation offers a variety of college scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors from the Kenosha Unified School District, St. Joseph Catholic Academy, Christian Life Academy, Shoreland Lutheran High School, KTEC High School, Racine Unified School District (RUSD) High Schools, The Prairie School, St. Catherine’s High School and Racine Lutheran High School.

In addition to awarding college scholarships, the Shebaniah B. Judah Signature Award and the Dr. Bryan Albrecht Living Legend Award are both presented to select individuals or organizations who have shown a lifetime of multicultural humanitarian achievements in support of Kenosha and Racine, as well as a sustained investment toward the success of our mission.

Proceeds from the Reaching for Rainbows "Pursuit of Excellence" Gala support our Career Exploration Organization mentoring program, where our goal continues to focus on academic achievement, college readiness, career success, and service to others while reducing the financial barriers impacting access and affordability for our first-generation students. To date, we have awarded nearly 400 college scholarships to deserving Kenosha and Racine area youth.
